Sacked Sunderland footballer Adam Johnsonwill begin his trial over child sex offences today.

The winger, 28, dismissed by the club last night, denies two charges of sexual activity with a girl aged under 16.

 

On Wednesday, Johnson pleaded guilty to one charge of grooming and another of sexual activity, namely kissing, the same girl.

A jury of six men and six women will return
