United Kingdom European Union Membership Referendum, 2016

Since the end of the 18th century, hundreds of national referendums have been organised in the world.

During that process, in the modern era, indigenous people have seen their land and resources stolen, and their cultures denigrated and undermined.

The United Kingdom European Union membership referendum, known within the United Kingdom as the EU referendum and the Brexit referendum, was a non-binding referendum that took place on Thursday 23 June 2016 in the UK and Gibraltar to gauge support for the country’s continued membership in the European Union. The referendum resulted in an overall vote to leave the EU, by 51.9%. The vote was split between the constituent countries of the United Kingdom, with a majority in England and Wales voting to leave, and a majority in Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as Gibraltar, voting to remain (wikipedia).

What the hell is wrong with these people?

Take BrexiAnd their betters tried to show them how their so-called concerns about unrestricted foreign immigration and its consequences on their incomes, the nature of their communities, and their safety were really just a smokescreen for the rabid racism that lurks beneath the surface of anyone who isn’t an urban elitist like us. Did they listen? They turned down the chance for unrestricted immigration from Turkey! I mean, how could that possibly go wrong? It’s not like there is some kind of looming threat out there from organized groups of foreigners with a murderous ideology that has sworn our destruction.

And jobs? Why, I don’t see immigrants from impoverished countries coming here and taking jobs from me and my friends in the fields of politics, the media or the professions!

A plague of racial injustice is imminent. You will see the worrisome regression on racial attitudes, not only under the law, but in the hearts and minds of our countrymen and women.

One Response to United Kingdom European Union Membership Referendum, 2016

  1. Those who voted Remain have demonstrated to the rest of the country their hypocrisy with their derogatory and insulting comments aimed at those who voted Leave, claiming it was not a binding referendum. Please, get real. Leave won. Get over it. I would not want to be associated with such people so glad to be a Leave voter.
