Corruption has become a way of life among politicians of all parties and all nations. The system we like to call democracy, if it ever existed, may also be broken beyond repair. Much was hoped of the internet, and it may yet help the cause of democracy, but already the rich and powerful are trying to tear holes in its fabric.
